Memorial for Argon Unveiled at Day of Remembrance

A marble statue of Argon, centaur, whose untimely death startled SpinDizzy in December, was unveiled at the Day of Remembrance ceremony in Memorial Park on Sunday the 30th of May. The statue, showing Argon lying down and reading a book, was based on his typical wardrobe and according to Mayor Jaxen was designed on consultation with Argon’s widow Mavra.

The statue was unveiled in a ceremony which began informally with speeches by Beltrami, dragonness, and Austin, coati; Dragoncat and then Jaxen spoke, with Jaxen concluding by the unveiling of the statue. PatchO’Black and BunnyHugger also spoke, with BunnyHugger’s offering thoughts about hoping for the long life of Spindizzy. Aina’, Society of Evil Doers tigress, came out to offer a ceremonial gunfire salute, and Borris, polar bear, performed a bagpipe solo.

Reports on their comments will hopefully be included in a later report. The Day of Remembrance is one of the regular muck holidays, the next scheduled of which is the Festival of Cuteness set for the 15th of June.
